The Microsoft Denmark team held a master class for Ukrainian teenagers who are in Copenhagen because of the war in Ukraine. In a friendly atmosphere, teenagers had the opportunity to gain new knowledge and apply it for the first time.

The meeting had the program’s title «Micro: bit, coding and creativity in one day».

The organizers made the master class program so that every participant could feel like an inventor. Participants learned how programs are created, each child or teenagers worked independently.
There was also a mentor at each table who could communicate with the participants in Ukrainian and answer questions.

«I was amazed that I was able to realize my idea. I had never done anything like this before and I thought that programming and inventions are something extremely difficult. Today I saw that it can be interesting and that I can try to move in this direction in the future.» — says Diana, 14, a participant of the master class.

In the second part of the master class, participants created prototypes of inventions with microchips inside. It was particularly creative and evoked many positive emotions. Every teenager wanted to create something special, implement a unique idea and find the best means for it.

«I liked that we were all like a real Microsoft team and could search for our idea, but working together,» — Alex, 15 years old, shared his impression.

According to Andres Rasmussen, Head of External Relations at Microsoft Development, the master class was carefully prepared. In particular, video instructions for the participants were prepared in Ukrainian, care was taken to make the program interesting and inspiring. Preparations for the meeting took place with the active participation of Ukrainian employees of the Danish Microsoft office.
