Traditionally, in December, the team of the Ministry of Digital Transformation sums up the results of the year and presents 100 victories of the Ministry. Current achievements are related to the challenges of wartime, the demands of the military and every Ukrainian.
“Despite all the challenges of the war, we continued to build a digital state. But new priority areas of work were added during the war — military services, the development of military-tech, Starlinks. Diia remained the main project. Over the year, we launched 39 services in the Diia application and on the portal, and this year the application has become one step closer to superapp,” said Mykhailo Fedorov, Vice Prime Minister — Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
Since February 24, exactly the digitalization has become the basis for the efficient work of the state. During the year, the Ministry of Digital Transformation actively worked on the development of the Diia. During this time, 6 million users have joined the application. Now Diia app is used by more than 18.5 million Ukrainians, and Diia web portal – by almost 22 million.
During a full-scale war, Diia became a tool for quick and convenient communication between Ukrainians and the state. We have launched the most relevant and in-demand services for Ukrainians. A unique document that became available almost immediately from the start of a full-scale invasion, services for IDPs, registration of damaged property, payments of UAH 6500 from the state, unemployment benefits, etc. In addition, we launched Diia.TV, Diia.Radio and added the opportunity to donate to help the army right in the application.
It’s also worth highlighting the military services in Diia. In the first weeks of a full-scale war, the team of the Ministry of Digital Transformation created a chatbot eVorog. Each person with a smartphone can share a photo of enemy’s equipment, report about collaborators or mines. In general, almost half a million Ukrainians used the chat bot. War bonds also became available in the app. This is an opportunity for every Ukrainian to help the army and the country’s economy, and then get the contribution back with a profit. Within a few months, 215K bonds were purchased in Diia, which is more than UAH 215 million support for the state’s budget.
In 2022, foreign countries began to be interested in the experience of digital Ukraine. On the basis of the Ukrainian Diia in the most digital country — Estonia — soon will be launched create the analogue of the application. Development team is working together with Estonian colleagues on it.
From the first days of the invasion, the Ministry’s team approached the world’s top companies to leave the Russian market and stop working with the aggressor. Team communicated with over 600 companies. Of these, 190 left the Russian market, 149 companies partially supported the digital blockade and applied some restrictions on its activities with Russia.
Team were looking for technological solutions and revolutionary ideas that would work for the victory of Ukraine. During the full-fledged war, Ukraine became one of the countries with the largest number of Starlinks. Now more than 22 thousand terminals are operating now in Ukraine, simultaneously, the team of the Ministry of Digital Transformation is negotiating on the supply of new batches.
In the top of victories are achievements on the cyber frontline. The first IT army was created in Ukraine, bringing together volunteers from all over the world. The community now has more than 200,000 IT professionals working together to fight attacks and perform various tasks in cyberspace.
But not only IT specialists support Ukraine, but the entire civilized world. By the initiative of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the fundraising platform UNITED24 was created. It has become the single venue for donations from all over the world. For almost 8 months of work, 255 million dollars were donated through UNITED24 in support of the army, Ukrainians doctors and a rebuilding of Ukraine.
Also within UNITED24, the Army of Drones project arose. It changed the course of military events and gave impetus to the development of military-tech. Within the Army of Drones, 1,577 drones were contracted for more than UAH 3.2 billion.
Team continued to develop Diia.City. 414 companies have already joined the special economic and legal framework. And this is more than 34 thousand specialists. We received tangible help from global technology companies that supported digital lend-lease. In particular, Amazon AWS, Google, ClearView, Recorded Future, etc.
